Strawberry kernels, rhubarb stalks, and jam jar

  • 3 cups of fresh strawberries, sliced.
  • 3 cups of fresh rhubarb chopped.
  • 3 cups white sugar.
  • Medium cup pineapple or lemon juice.
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon peel.

The longest part of this recipe is preparing the rhubarb; I wanted to bring back memories of my childhood when I prepare plain homemade strawberry rhubarb recipes. After washing the rhubarb sticks, I peel them with a knife or peeler, no need to remove a big thickness. I reserve the peels, they can be used to make tangy rhubarb water. Then I cut the rhubarb into sections of a few centimeters and set it aside.

- Strawberries and rhubarb prep

1- The first step. wash and hull the ripe strawberries. Split them in half or four.

2- Choose red stalks of raw rhubarb, wash, and chop them into tiny pieces to make them easier to cook.

3- In a large pot, pour the pieces of rhubarb and strawberry. Add the cups sugar, lemon juice, and peel.

4- Cover it with a plastic or aluminum lid and let macerate for a whole night.

5- In the morning we will find the mixture containing a liquid that resembles brown syrup.

6- After soaking, put the mixture in a saucepan over moderate heat and leave it until it begins to a full rolling boil and combines. Once this happens, start stirring it occasionally over a simmer.

7- Continue stirring separately but without leaving the kitchen

8- Remove foam or bubbles forming on the surface with a colander.

9- After about 30 minutes of cooking, try if the jam is set: pour the equivalent of a spoon on a flat surface and check that the jam is sticking. If it is too runny, cook it and increase the processing time for a few more min.

Hot Jam Canning

10- Sterilize the jam jars by boiling them in water to get rid of bacteria. Wipe them well with a clean cloth.

11- Once cooked, pour your jam into the jars. Immediately close the jars with the lids and turn them over to close them tightly (take a tea towel so as not to burn yourself).

12- After cooling completely, place your jars upright, away from light, or store them in the refrigerator.

13- After the canner, don't forget to write the production date on the jar.

Can you make a rhubarb jam without strawberry?

Of course, you can make rhubarb jam on its own, but the American Amish community prefers to add strawberries to improve their flavorful savor or add other fruits like strawberry, cherry, or raspberry, assembling a recipe for rhubarb jam can be a little confusing. What you need is the stirrer. This agitator will help you chop rhubarb into pieces that will dissolve at the boiling point easily.

The Amish band, famous for its simple living and has a great new collection of recipes that are in the Amish Kitchen book, is very rich for anyone who wants to learn about the sweet confection and cooking of this sect, the author of the homestyle Amish kitchen cookbook is Georgia Varozza, which was produced in 2010.

Where can I buy Amish strawberry rhubarb jam?

I know a store that sells Amish strawberry rhubarb jam on Amazon and they have good reviews about this product from the side of people except for one person who had a bad review, although the quality of the product appears good in the description, it is made by the Amish family and at the home of course, but it contains pectin and every jar has a 20 Oz (566g.)

 * Jam will keep for several months, of course, up to a year, but do not forget to make jam in a limited amount, as in the recipe.

 * The first procedure in the Amish Strawberry Rhubarb jam is to puree the berries in a blender. I prefer to use a slow-moving blender so the puree will not clump up. You can also puree the berry with a hand blender, but using a slow-moving blender will give you a smooth blend.

 * Once you have pureed the berry, it is time to get it ready for use. The best part about this is that you can freeze the puree for later use. This will save you a lot of money when you can use your jam in various ways.

 * You will also want to blend the strawberry jam recipe before it is done to prevent any lumps that could form. It is essential to crushing your strawberry correctly because once you grind them, they tend to gather and clump together. This will defeat the purpose of having pureed strawberries.

 * After you have pureed the strawberry, you want to make sure that you do not have a smooth texture. If you have had a hard time making jam rhubarb in the past, and you have tried many times, you may have found a consistency where you just wanted to end it all. But since the jam rhubarb will not be smooth, you need to add the strawberry puree at a slower pace, not in a rush.

 * A quick tip to keep in mind when making your Amish Strawberry Rhubarb Jam Recipe is to give the jam a few more minutes in the blender. You want to be able to combine the sweet mixture without having to add anything else to the mix.

 * There are also many different types of jams that you can use to customize the strawberry jam recipe. For example, if you like the crisp taste of ginger, then you can substitute the maple syrup for the traditional brown sugar to create your version of ginger jam.
